I spent more than fifty years in the mortgage industry, but my story is not simply about longevity—it is about perspective.

When I first entered the business, the mortgage industry looked very different from what it does today. Technology was limited, markets moved more slowly, and relationships were often built face-to-face. Over the decades that followed, I witnessed—and participated in—the transformation of mortgage banking through innovation, market cycles, regulatory change, and the rise of digital lending.

Throughout those years, I served in many roles. I built and led mortgage companies, advised lenders navigating growth and disruption. I worked alongside technology innovators bringing new solutions to market. And developed relationships with leaders across every corner of the industry.

These experiences gave me something that can only be developed over time: pattern recognition.

I have seen organizations grow because leadership was strong, intentional, and people-focused. I have also seen companies struggle when leadership clarity and alignment were missing.

Over time, I recognized a simple truth that now shapes my work:

The strength of a mortgage company ultimately reflects the strength of its leaders.

That realization led me to focus more deeply on leadership development. While I remain deeply connected to the business and technology of mortgage banking, my greatest passion today is helping leaders grow.

Through coaching, mentoring, speaking, and industry conversations, I work closely with mortgage executives, founders, and emerging leaders who are navigating the pressures of leadership in an industry that never stands still.

Markets shift. Margins tighten. Regulations evolve. Technology continues to transform how lending is done. In the midst of this constant change, leaders are asked to make decisions that affect employees, customers, and the long-term health of their organizations.

My role role in those moments is not simply to provide answers, but to help leaders think more clearly.

Those who work with me often describe me as a steady and thoughtful sounding board—someone who asks the right questions, brings long-term perspective, and helps leaders approach challenges with wisdom rather than urgency.

Also widely known as the host of Lykken on Lending, one of the mortgage industry’s most recognized podcasts. Each week, I bring together executives, innovators, and thought leaders to explore the ideas, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of mortgage banking.

Through these conversations and through my coaching work, I continue to live out a simple mission that has guided much of his career:

To Inspire. To Equip. To Encourage.

To inspire leaders with vision and perspective.
To equip them with wisdom drawn from decades of experience.
And to encourage them as they carry the responsibility of leading others.

After more than five decades in the mortgage industry, I remain committed to helping leaders—and the organizations they serve—grow stronger.

Because when leaders grow, the entire industry benefits.

For me, this is a calling and that is why I continue to invite leaders across the mortgage industry to join me in a simple but powerful commitment:

Let’s get better together.
